We are always looking for new service-oriented people to join our club. After all, the more members we have, the more “noise” we can make to serve our community and its children.
If you are interested in finding out more about us, we hope you will attend one of our General Meetings, held each Wednesday with dinner at 6:30pm, followed by our meeting at 7:00pm. First time guests dine with us for free, otherwise the optional dinner fee is $10. It will give you an opportunity to meet some of our members and find out what we are working on at the present time. Don’t worry about coming alone—we are a friendly, welcoming bunch. We often stick around after the meetings to visit and enjoy each other’s company.
To become a member, you must attend three meetings, submit an application, have a sponsor (after a couple of meetings, one of our members will be happy to oblige), and pay annual dues (new members first year is reduced). Memberships are approved by our Board of Directors at our monthly meetings.
While each member is expected to volunteer on our various projects, we also recognize that we are all busy people with busy lives. We also have very different talents and preferences. All we ask is that you volunteer when and where you are interested and able. The average member volunteers two or three hours a month. As you can see from our website, Wilton Manors Kiwanis Club has a LOT of different activities in which to get involved.
