Michael d’Oliveira has been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Wilton Manors since February of 2008. Prior to becoming President in October, 2013, he served as President-Elect and Vice President. He has also helped organize numerous club events and fundraisers, including Kids Day, the Kentucky Derby Day Barbeque, and the Chili Cook Off.
Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, including many years as a Wilton Manors resident, Michael is an alumnus of Fort Lauderdale High School. He was an Eagle Scout in Boy Scout Troop 190 in Fort Lauderdale where he served as senior patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, quartermaster, and patrol leader. He also volunteered as a coach for Wilton Manors’ Flag Football League.
Michael currently works as a freelance writer for three local newspapers, covering stories in Wilton Manors, Pompano Beach, Lighthouse Point, and several other Broward cities. He also works in the Student Life Department of Broward College’s Downtown Center.
